Walk for Hunger Snack Packing

Yesterday I had the pleasure of volunteering with the Walk for Hunger Campaign, by packing snack packs for people all over Massachusetts. We were able to pack 11,000 bags in 3 hours. No that was not a typo I did say ELEVEN THOUSAND. At the half mark, when they announced we had completed 7,000 and there were 4,000 left: The numbers made me dizzy. Such HARDWORK! Nonetheless, I was able to meet amazing people. Below are some pictures of the event.

P.S: Later in the day, I made a guest queen appearance at the Ethnic New England Pageant. (Those pictures are coming soon!!)

Bobbles and Lace: Jewelry

I will like to thank Bobbles and Lace on Newbury Street for sponsoring me with this beautiful jewelry for nationals. I am excited to be supported by my state, family, friends, etc. Bobbles and Lace is a cute little boutique on Newbury St. in Boston, they sell amazing shoes, jewelry, handbags, clothing ect. I attend school right around the corner and I am so glad I have found a new shopping spot. For my nationals trip in August to represent Massachusetts I am working hard to gain support and sponsorships to help my journey along the way. With BIG shoes to feel I am looking to get all the help that I can. If you are interested in supporting me during my reign as Miss Black Massachusetts Talent Teen 2012 Donate or Contact me via email (semirahdolan@yahoo.com) or:

Overdue: Hunger Games Review :) !

Hey ! A couple of weeks ago my friends and I went to the midnight premiere to see HUNGER GAMES!! yayy. It was really fun, we expected to see a whole bunch of teens. ehh WRONG the theatre was full of college kids, we were probably the youngest one's there. strange. Anyways. I feel that I have very biased thoughts on the movie since I read the book first. I mean the movie was very good, especially the makeup and costumes, but I would love if the movie had more of the small details from the book. The movie was 2 hours and 20 minutes long but it felt like 1 hour. I do commend the directors for being able to fit so much in such little time, but as a hard-core Hunger Games fan I wouldn't mind sitting through a 4 hour movie, as long as every detail is added. But hey! that is just me, If you have seen the movie yet or are thinking about it.. what are your reviews on the movie?

*Below are pictures from the night of the premiere*

Hunger Game's Nail Polish, the colors are inspireds by the whole "fire" aspect in the movie..
Hot Topic: China Glaze

My friends and our glammed out Hunger Games Nails before the premiere!
^^My hand is the one with the Red Bow Forver21 Ring :)

My outfit for that night. OOTD
A springy and light dress from American Eagle : Around $60
Pink Sperry Flats that I brought last year in Florida.

My friends rocking their Hunger Games shirts.. Haha I couldn't find one so I had to be the wierdo, but at least I found the cute dress!! #WINNING

A Poem Fit For a Princess

This month is National Poetry Month and I signed up to say a poem in front of my whole school. As I am searching for a poem that kind of reflects me I found this amazing poem that I just had to share:
The author is Shakera Reid.
Here is where I found it: http://becauseisaidso.org/wwwbecauseisaidsoorg.aspx
I love this poem because it is something that motivates me as a beauty queen and pageant girl.
 SIMPLY BECAUSE I SAID SO
Who am I?
I am an intelligent, beautiful, elegant Princess.
Why?
Simply Because I Said So!
Who am I?
I am the hope of tomorrow getting prepared today.
Why?
Simply Because I Said So!
Who am I?
I am the one who speaks success and great opportunity into my life.
Why?
Simply Because I Said So!
Who am I?
I am love and a promise of better things to come.
Why?
Simply Because I Said So!
Who Am I?
I am the one who refuses to acknowledge the world’s negativity.
Why?
Simply Because I Said So!
Who Am I?
I am an independent young lady who knows her self-worth.
Why?
Simply Because I Said So!
Who Am I?
I am the heir to a throne and a daughter of a King;
I am one of the “Chosen Ones”; set apart and encouraged
I am God’s very own—His personal messenger to the world.
Why?
Simply Because He Says So!

First Official Photoshoot

Hey guys , I know I've been absent for a while. Since that time I had my first official photoshoot of the year as Miss Black Massachusetts Talented Teen. Accompanying me was my mom and State Director, Dima Hendricks. The photoshoot consisted of a national pink outfit, a tribute to Trayvon Martin, and a Patriotic type outfit.

If you wish to support me in my endeavors as Miss Black Massachusetts Talented Teen , Donations can be made at: http://missblackmass.org/

^^ This above picture is just something from my friends Sweet 16. I wanted to switch up the outfit alittle by adding a leopard print belt alongside the tan skinny belt, eh just for a pop of flavor since it was a late-night party.

Also FYI my camera DIED! Like I used it one day and then the next it refused to turn on. SMH so rebellious :( .. so that is why my post have been more spreadout b/c I haven't had a camera to capture my perfect blogging moments.
NO WORRIES though I am getting a new one tonight. I'm not sure if I should get one of those awesome $600 cameras or a really good $200 digi camera?? #Help?
