LV and Gold Jewelry: OOTD

Express Shorts and Misc. Bangles

New England received it's first snow storm of the season over Christmas Break and I am not complaining at all. The snow not only gives me a beautiful background ;) but, it also puts the skiing mountains back into business! I love seeing people come from all over just to check out our slopes. This winter I am definitely taking advantage of the cold weather and mixing up some wild outfits. Ok, maybe not wild.. That is a bit of an exaggeration. Nonetheless, I am excited to do some photoshoots in the snow, in heels!

Instead of doing a "What did I get for Christmas" blog post or video, I will just be incorporating my gifts into my OOTD's. For instance, the LV Papillon from of the Shorter family.

OOTD: Vacation Lazy Days

Over break my wardrobe consist of the easiest items in my wardrobe. Easiet being those loose items that will fit you no matter what and tame little to no effort to get dress. Above I am wearing a blue sparkly tank top dress that is fitted at my thighs. I wore this for an appearance at a talent show. Hahah...a As I reminince on this event from early in the week, I remember that I wore my brown cowboots with that dress. Too cute and casual, totally downplayed the dress for the perfect lazy look.

My makeup looks have been bold and colorful. I don't really fancy this photo because, I look exhausted. Nonetheless, I love the yellow eyeshadow and slight brush of blush and MAC Lipglass.

Again, this outfit is the perfect "lazy" look. I threw on a colorful sports bra for flair with a knitted tank crop top. I paired this top with light khakis and ankle-length brown boots. Throwing on this outfit was effortless.

Today, I took a visit to the library and because, I have not been to school for a few days I wanted to feel smart and studious. Hence, the old Eddie Bauer messenger bag filled with overdue books and journals. My makeup includes a nice moisterizing lotion and lipgloss. All naturallee *Lol say that with some foreign accent*.  What do you wear on a "Lazy" day??

Boston Blogger Meet & Greet

The Bloggers that met up for a meet and greet @ChurchBoston

Today I attended a Boston Blogger Meet Up event hosted by @Blogandtweetboston. A group of local bloggers came together for an amazing meal at @ChurchBoston. Don't let the name fool you because, their food is beyond divine! We had the opportunity of meeting the Chef, John Rush, and many of the other influential bodies at the restaurant/bar. With a menu inspired not only from Eastern Europe but also, Amish country influences, is sure to give customers unique dining experiences. I recommend ordering something off the menu that you would never order on an ordinary day, like the Béchamel with Lamb. Hey I tried it and I loved every bite. So after braving a Red Sox game in Fenway with your pals/gals, I highly suggest walking a few blocks down to @ChurchBoston and ordering a meal along with the any one of the alcoholic beverages they serve at their bar. To make this place even more alluring, what if I told you they had comfy couches?? mhhmm yeah... Check out more about their menu and chef here (http://www.churchofboston.com/restaurant.html)

The Boston Ballet Nutcracker

This week I had the pleasure of attending my first ever Nutcracker show. Now that I think about it, I did attend a show, when I was like 4 (So that totally doesn't count!). I had in amazing time with friends and we were an fantastic seats. The cool thing about this show was that about 3-5 of our classmates from school danced in the Nutcracker.

Robert Perdziola deserves so many accolades for the gorgeous costumes that the dancers wore. This was Robert's first year as the costume designer for the Boston Ballet Nutcracker and he really deserved it. I don't really know what words to use to describe this show, I was literally in awe the whole entire time. Well, after 9:45 I begin to doze off a bit (haha but the salsa dancers at the end totally kept me awake!). I highly recommend going to this show as a nice holiday family event or even for a girls' night out, get all dressed up and go into town!

A Product Like No Other

Louis Vuitton Monogramming. I don't know if this is new or if I am just really late. But monogramming on LV products feels like a gift from heaven.

At first, I was kind of tired with the huge logo all over the bag and the amount of knock offs flooding the streets. I tried to avoid the bag and succeeded for a decent amount of time but, now LV is all I see. I am guaranteed to see about 7 LV Neverfull bags. The thing is, that bag is perfect for all the necessities that I carry around.

What do you guys think? Should I indulge in this guilty pleasure?

If only makeup could speak...

http://www.product-girl.com/img/mac_cosmetics_originals_products.jpg

It would say:

For eyeliner, mascara, blush, and concealer,
All there for girls appeasement
And there magical purpose
Remains to bring about disguise

For eyeliner, mascara, blush, and concealer,
Is our hero dear
For eyeliner, mascara, blush, and concealer,
Is our possession for work and play

For eyeliner widens your perspective
Blush gives a rush
And mascara, lengthens our hopes,
And concealer, cloaks our shade.

Then every man kind of every clime,
That hopes for less stress,
Gives in to the temptation
For concealer, mascara, eyeliner, and blush

And all should love the feminine form,
In bare, covered, and plastered.
Where there is eyeliner, mascara, and concealer
Then charm is dwelling too.

This is a pastiche I did in class on William Blake's poem "Night".
I'm not really the poetic type but, I 'm proud of this one! :)

If you were not able to grace us with your presence at the pageant then, below are some snap shots. There was a bit of a wait for the excitement but, once the show got started it zoomed by! The talent that these girls brought to the show was amazing!! I could not believe how unique every girl was and the different assets they brought to the table. I felt sorry for the judges because, this year's competition was tough! Not only was this the 2013 pageant but, it was also my final walk with my big sister queen. Beauty Pageant Tips: From Experience

Alright so this year's reign is almost over and I can confess that I have made some mistakes. I'm only human people! So to save some of you guys from on stage embarrassment whether it's for a talent show, PAGEANT, or something where you are the point of attention here are some tips:

1. Good Posture!
I know the judges and audiences are most likely looking up at you, literally (Because the stage is most likely higher than the general seating), so you have the urge to slouch down.. Don't! In my case, I had on a strapless Cinderella dress, I am slightly heavy chested, and the camera was pointing UP at me AND to make matters worst, I slouched. Horrible, yes I know, WORST angle for a camera to see. My dress looked scrunchy and not as pretty as I wished it could have looked on the camera.

2. SMILE!
The camera is always pointed towards the stage, no matter if you are in the back ground or not, SMILE. Be careful of your facials because you don't want the camera to catch you scowling because you didn't win or laughing at another contestant :(

3. Be a good sport/ team player/ etc etc.
You are not in the pageant to make friends but, you are in the pageant to be a role model for others. Just remember, that eye's will be on you once you step into the door. Please pleasee pleasee, remember that because, first impressions will last forever and you can either leave with friends or enemies. It is all up to you!

4. Speak slowly and precise.
You are given time on stage for a reason. Take advantage of it and shine. You want the audience and judges to hear every single word so, pronounce every word clearly.

5. Have COMFORTABLE HEELS that you can walk in. Enough said.

DIY 20's HairStyle: Finger Waves

http://namastetimes.com/2012/07/24/finger-wave-hairstyles/
My try with the Finger Waves, Rad right?? ;)

Finger Waves are actually simple curls to achieve and can be achieved by most types of hair, when giving the right products and instructions. Here are some step-by-step instructions:

Step 1 : If you have curly/thicker hair, like me then... What I did was a wash and blow dry. After, I straightened my hair with a flat iron before I began. For thinner hair, avoid using loads of lotion and hair products. This weighs down the waves. The goal is to give your hair the right amount of weight to maintain the curls.
Step 2 : Decide what side you want your part on and part your hair with a wide tooth comb. Try to create a precise and straight part. Your hair should be smooth at this point.
Step 3: Put your hair into pin curls and sit under a blow dryer for about 30 minutes. Take out clips after 30 minutes.
Step 4 : Use a comb and comb hair lotion through out your hair. The hair store has many hair lotions and if you are lucky you can find one specific for finger waves.
Step 5 : Now shape your hair by using the comb. You will have to create the volume needed for the finger wave hairstyle from the front partition of the hair. Make sure your hair is smooth as you comb it. The bumps do not have to be precise, remember this hair style is not perfect. Sometimes, the waves will fall into place.
Step 6 : Use booby pins or duck clips to keep the waves close to the scalp.
Step 7 : Follow the directions to create the rest of the finger waves. If you can’t do the ones on the back, ask a friend for some help.
Everyone, has different results and practice makes perfect. So... Happy Finger Wavingg!

OOTD: Emotional Expression

Today, after school while walking home in the pouring rain, I had the sudden urge to use the gloomy weather to my advantage. Plus, I wanted to incorporate my Hello Kitty into this blog post. In order to do that, I put together this outfit for the evening. It is really bold and reverberates my happy mood. I really want to emphasize HAPPY MOOD because, after receiving good grades on all of my quizzes/tests today I deserve a little color pop splurge! No judgement :D
K
If this outfit didn't have that jean jacket, I'd say it would have been not as sexy!

My Allure fashion mag and I smoozing up for this photo opp. I really love how the color of the letters on the magazine match my skirt! :)

The fact that I risked my life to do a photo shoot on a hill, in the MUDD, proves my undying love for you guys!
